To cope with revenue losses due to unprecedented COVID closures , Zoo Authority of Karnataka launched online drive for animal adoption . In order to facilitate general public, the existing adoption scheme is modified and now, interested individual/institution may select their favorite animal, using “Zoos of Karnataka” App, and contribute to feed and care of the selected animals for one full year / for a day or more, and enjoy the prescribed privileges like Certificate of Adoption, complimentary pass besides exemption u/s 80G (5)(vi) of the Income Tax Act 1961 for the donations to ZAK. Below are the current year details from 1st April2021 till date, showing zoo wise donations made through Zoo authority of Karnataka App, through ZAK donation webpage and directly adopted by paying cheque / cash at the respective Zoos.

The entire amount received in the form of donations / adoptions is utilised to meet expenses towards animal’s feed and fodder / Veterinary Care of and maintenance.
